I am grateful to you for your letter and your kind words which I have relayed to G as well. It was a pity that the last few years were so difficult for my mother but I know the time was made more bearable by your involvement in rather difficult circumstances. I appreciate and thank you for your efforts. Sadly, my mother was in many ways a shadow of her former self in her last few years, but I am glad something of her character shone through and gave all of us, including her, bright moments and pleasure.
